Security Forces Thwart Terrorist Attack on Cadet College Wana, Kill Two Militants

Security forces successfully foiled a terrorist attack on Cadet College Wana in South Waziristan, killing two militants, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Monday. According to the military, the attackers tried to breach the college’s security by ramming an explosives-laden vehicle into the main gate, damaging the entrance and nearby structures. Troops quickly responded, preventing further casualties. Three other militants entered the premises but were contained within the administrative block. The ISPR stated that the attackers were in contact with handlers in Afghanistan and aimed to replicate the 2014 Army Public School tragedy. It reaffirmed Pakistan’s right to respond to terrorist groups operating from Afghan soil and said the attack sought to instill fear among youth in the tribal areas.
