Samsung delays the launch of the Galaxy S25 Slim

Samsung fans are eagerly awaiting the upcoming Unpacked event on January 22, where the company is expected to reveal its flagship lineup for 2025, including the Galaxy S25 Ultra, S25, and S25+.

However, the much-anticipated Galaxy S25 Slim, a slimmer fourth variant, is likely to be absent from this presentation and may instead be launched in May.

Recent rumors from an unnamed source on the Chinese social media platform Weibo suggest the Galaxy S25 Slim will debut in May, although this information should be treated with caution due to the source’s lack of recognition. Despite this, the timeline seems plausible, as there have been no major leaks about the device’s development.

Benchmark data indicates the smartphone is still being developed, and previous hints from the One UI 7 Beta code pointed to a release in the second quarter of 2025, between April and June.

The Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to be just 6.5mm thick and positioned between the S25 Plus and Ultra models in terms of display size. Leaks suggest it could feature a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the S25 Slim may include advanced silicon-carbon battery technology, enabling it to maintain a slim profile while offering a 5,000mAh battery.

The S25 Slim will face competition from Apple’s rumored iPhone 17 Air, which is expected to be even thinner at 5.5mm. While both devices are unconfirmed, the trend for thinner smartphones is becoming clear.

Samsung enthusiasts are hopeful that a teaser at the January event might provide more details about the S25 Slim.
