Bilawal Bhutto to attend Trump’s inauguration ceremony

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari will attend the inauguration ceremony of US President-elect Donald Trump on January 20, 2025, in a personal capacity.

According to sources, Bhutto-Zardari received an official invitation from the Trump administration and is expected to travel to the US in the coming days for the event.

Other world leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, have also been invited to the ceremony, which marks the start of Trump’s second term as the 47th President of the United States after his victory in the November 2024 presidential election.

This is not the first time PPP leaders have attended such events. In 2017, PPP Co-chairman and former Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari attended Trump’s pre-inauguration oath ceremony in Washington, accompanied by Rehman Malik (late) and Sherry Rehman.

Trump, who won the 2024 election by a significant margin, will take the oath of office at the Capitol in Washington, D.C., next week. In his victory speech, he thanked the American people for giving him a “powerful mandate” to lead as the nation’s 47th president.
