Rana Sanaullah Says PTI Fails to Distinguish Between Anti-Establishment and Anti-Army Politics

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah said on Wednesday that PTI fails to distinguish between “anti-establishment” and “anti-army” politics, stressing that PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif has always engaged in the former, not the latter. His remarks came a day after the Punjab Assembly passed a resolution seeking a ban on PTI founder Imran Khan and his party for allegedly promoting “anti-state” narratives. The statement also follows recent comments by ISPR DG Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, who criticised Imran for spreading “anti-army” rhetoric, calling it a national security threat. Speaking on Geo News’ programme Naya Pakistan, Sanaullah said people may disagree with the establishment but still support the country and its army, adding that PTI’s stance against military leadership is politically damaging and could cause the party long-term harm.
