PTA initiates the process of reinstating access to Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube services within the country.

On Wednesday, May 10th, 2023, internet services were temporarily suspended nationwide due to political unrest. However, the government has announced on Monday its decision to restore internet services and lift all restrictions on social media platforms, allowing people to access them freely.

Although some individuals are still experiencing connectivity issues, it is anticipated that internet services will be fully reinstated. The suspension of internet services was implemented in response to the violent protests following the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The suspension of internet services has resulted in significant losses for various online businesses, including digital service providers like Foodpanda, Uber, Careem, Indrive, and others. Additionally, social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube were completely inaccessible.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has now confirmed that measures are being taken to restore internet services.
