President Zardari praises Pakistani Army for its outstanding role in protecting the country

During his initial meeting with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir since assuming the presidency, Asif Ali Zardari acknowledged the pivotal role played by the Pakistan Armed Forces. He commended their efforts in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and unity.

As per an official statement from the President’s Secretariat, General Munir paid a visit to President Zardari at the presidency on Wednesday. Extending congratulations to Zardari on his presidency and appointment as Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, General Munir conveyed his best wishes for success in his new capacity.

General Munir briefed the president on the ongoing military operations conducted by the Pakistan Army, underscoring the army’s preparedness to counter any threats to the nation.

Furthermore, General Munir shed light on the army’s active involvement in various development initiatives, particularly in the Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) regions. President Zardari lauded the Pakistan Army’s contributions towards enhancing the livelihoods of the populace in these areas, expressing gratitude for the army’s unwavering commitment to the nation’s advancement.

President Zardari also paid homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the country. He hailed their courage and fortitude, regarding them as embodiments of Pakistan’s resilience. President Zardari affirmed the nation’s enduring remembrance and reverence for the sacrifices rendered by the martyrs and their families.
