Police in Lahore arrested 28 people, including 18 men and 10 women, during a dance party in the Barki area after receiving a complaint through the emergency helpline 15.
The raid, carried out by officials from the Barki police station, led to the arrest of participants for alleged alcohol consumption and violations of the Loudspeaker Act. One suspect reportedly escaped during the operation.
Those arrested included individuals named Asif, Aamir, Shahid, Huzayfah, Umar, Mohammad Ali, Adnan, Zubair, Musalifin, Adil, Hamza, Faraz, Zaheer, Zain, Sahil, Daniyal, Rubin, Saba, Nihal, Ayesha, Rabia, Noor, Sadra, and Aksy. Authorities seized alcohol, flavored shisha, and weapons from the venue.
This incident is similar to one in Karachi’s Korangi Mehran Town last October, where police raided a private party after residents complained. However, in that case, no drugs or alcohol were found, and no arrests were made.
