PML-N leaders have rejected former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s offer to apologize for the May 9 riots, insisting he should be punished for orchestrating the violence. They argue that even if Khan seeks forgiveness, he should not be pardoned for his role in the unrest.
Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari criticized Khan’s offer, noting that he had previously opposed granting amnesty and now seeks mercy. She accused Khan of inciting violence and manipulating supporters, leading to attacks on national symbols and military installations.
Bokhari also claimed that Khan’s associates encouraged street protests following his arrest, and that videos exist showing attacks on military and sensitive sites. She asserted that unconditional apologies are insufficient for such actions, implying that Khan’s conditional apology should not be accepted.
