PM Shehbaz Opens Gwadar Airport During Chinese Prime Minister Visit

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif virtually inaugurated Gwadar International Airport with Chinese Premier Li Qiang during his visit to Pakistan. Calling it a “gift” from China, PM Shehbaz highlighted the airport as a symbol of the strong Pakistan-China alliance. This marks the first visit by a Chinese premier in 11 years, and Li will also attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit. To ensure security, Islamabad has declared a three-day public holiday. Shehbaz expressed hope that the airport would boost Gwadar’s economy and praised China’s support in advancing Pakistan’s growth agenda. During the event, both nations signed MoUs in industry, trade, and agriculture.
