PIA Ends 21-Year Loss Streak, Set for First Profit: Bloomberg

PIA is on track to post its first annual profit in over 20 years, signaling a major turnaround as the national airline moves toward privatization. According to Bloomberg, PIA earned Rs5.01 per share in 2024, marking its first profit since 2003 after decades of losses and rising debt. The airline’s recovery comes after major reforms, including workforce reductions, closing unprofitable routes, and improving aircraft efficiency to cut costs and boost revenue. A complete company restructuring also played a key role, helping PIA clear substantial debt and strengthen its financial position, setting the stage for a more sustainable future.
