Petrol price cut by Rs. 8, now Rs. 259.34 per litre

The interim government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, has declared a reduction in the price of petrol by Rs8 per litre and opted to maintain the price of high-speed diesel at its current level for the next fortnight.

This decision, endorsed by the interim prime minister, is geared towards alleviating financial strains on the public during this critical interim phase. The adjusted prices took effect from midnight, setting the new petrol price at Rs259.34 per litre, while high-speed diesel retains its rate at Rs303.18 per litre.

A fortnight ago, the government had upheld petrol and high-speed diesel prices at Rs267.34 and Rs276.21, respectively. Furthermore, there were reports of a Rs2.19 reduction in the price of kerosene oil.

As per a notification from the Finance Division, the government has chosen to maintain the current prices of petrol and high-speed diesel unaltered for the next two weeks.
