As the impending commencement of the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 9) on February 17 approaches, Zaka Ashraf, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, has received a robust assurance regarding security protocols from Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Riffat Mukhtar.
Discussions concerning security arrangements for PSL matches, including the qualifier, two eliminators, and the final, scheduled to be held in Karachi, took place at Karachi’s Central Police Office.
During these deliberations, the Sindh IGP underscored the professional handling of security matters, citing the heightened vigilance and effective security measures previously implemented by Sindh Police during significant events at the National Stadium.
Zaka Ashraf expressed complete satisfaction with the approved contingency plans for PSL matches and conveyed gratitude to the police officer. He also affirmed the commitment of cooperation from both himself and the PCB administration, aiming for a secure and successful PSL 9 with a primary focus on the safety of players, officials, and spectators.
