The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to rename Peshawar’s historic Arbab Niaz Stadium in honor of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has approved the proposal, and the provincial sports ministry has prepared a summary for final approval in the upcoming cabinet meeting.
A KP government spokesperson confirmed that renovation and beautification work is also in progress to upgrade the stadium’s infrastructure. Originally named after Arbab Niaz, a former mayor of Peshawar and federal minister, the stadium remains a key cricket venue in Pakistan.
