Pakistan’s left-arm spinner, Noman Ali, has been nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for October 2024, in recognition of his exceptional performances in the ICC World Test Championship.
Noman played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s remarkable comeback victory against England, delivering a series of outstanding bowling displays on home soil. Returning to Test cricket at the age of 38, he claimed an impressive 20 wickets across two Tests held in Multan and Rawalpindi, with a remarkable average of 13.85, underscoring his precision and skill throughout the series.
His most notable performances came in the second innings of both matches, where he produced devastating spells that were key to Pakistan’s success. In one match, Noman took 8 wickets for just 46 runs, while in another, he claimed 6 wickets for 42 runs, demonstrating his ability to change the course of the game with his bowling. Alongside his bowling exploits, Noman also made a valuable contribution with the bat, scoring 45 crucial runs in the final Test, further boosting Pakistan’s momentum.
