For the first time in 12 years, a Pakistani trade delegation, led by FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh, visited Bangladesh to strengthen economic relations and promote investment between the two countries. The delegation included FPCCI Senior Vice President Saqib Fyaz Magoo and engaged in discussions with Bangladeshi officials on trade opportunities and economic collaboration.
Both countries emphasized their commitment to building a strong partnership and increasing mutual trade.
A significant outcome of the visit was the easing of visa restrictions. Bangladesh announced a simplified visa process for Pakistanis, while the delegation proposed introducing long-term visas for Pakistani businesspeople. Similarly, Pakistan has relaxed its visa rules for Bangladeshi nationals, fostering closer economic ties.
Bangladesh’s Commerce Minister, Sheikh Bashiruddin, highlighted the need for collaboration to boost trade and industrial cooperation. Both sides agreed to work on joint economic initiatives to explore new opportunities for growth and development.
