Pakistan Ranked 98th in Mobile Internet, Lags Behind India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh

Pakistan has been ranked 98th globally in mobile internet speed, falling behind other South Asian countries, according to the latest global index. India leads the region at 27th, followed by Sri Lanka at 78th and Bangladesh at 92nd. The report highlights Pakistan’s urgent need to upgrade digital infrastructure, improve service quality, and accelerate 5G rollout. Experts warn that slow internet is not only a technical issue but also a barrier to economic growth, digital inclusion, education, e-commerce, and innovation. Strengthening telecom investment and spectrum allocation is seen as key to boosting connectivity and driving the country’s digital economy forward.
