Pakistan, Iran to Keep Border Open 24/7 for Pilgrims

Pakistan and Iran have agreed to keep their shared border open around the clock during Muharram and Arbaeen to facilitate the smooth movement of pilgrims, the Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday. The decision was made during a meeting in Tehran between Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi and Iran’s Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni. Iran has pledged to provide accommodation for 5,000 Pakistani pilgrims in Mashhad and special transport arrangements to Iraq. Both sides will also establish a direct hotline to address any pilgrim-related concerns promptly. A trilateral meeting involving Pakistan, Iran, and Iraq will be held in Mashhad before Arbaeen to coordinate efforts, and additional flights will be scheduled to enhance safety and convenience for pilgrims.
