Pakistan, India to Withdraw Border Troops by May 30 to Ease Tensions

Pakistan and India have agreed to withdraw their troops to peacetime positions along the Line of Control (LoC) and the international border by May 30, marking a major step toward de-escalation. The decision, confirmed by senior officials following high-level talks between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs), is seen as a key move to rebuild trust and promote regional peace. After years of tensions and frequent clashes along the LoC, the recent ceasefire—backed by international partners—has opened the door to meaningful confidence-building efforts. This troop pullback signals a joint commitment to dialogue over conflict, offering renewed hope for lasting peace to communities living near the volatile border regions.
