The Pakistan hockey team notched their second triumph at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China, prevailing over Bangladesh.
In their second pool match, Pakistan faced an initial setback when Bangladesh seized an early advantage with a penalty corner goal in the 19th minute. However, Pakistan rallied and leveled the score at 1-1, with Afraz playing a pivotal role in the team’s 5-2 victory over Bangladesh.
Following this comeback, Pakistan maintained their dominance, securing back-to-back goals. Shahzeb Khan and Mohammad Imad found the net in the 40th and 43rd minutes, respectively.
Despite Bangladesh’s spirited efforts to narrow the deficit, they managed to score their second goal in the 46th minute. Nevertheless, Pakistan expanded their lead with a powerful flick from a penalty corner by Sufyan Khan, ultimately sealing a 4-2 victory in favor of Pakistan.
