Pakistan declares February 8 a National Day of Mourning for Prince Karim Aga Khan IV

The Government of Pakistan has declared February 8, 2025, as a National Day of Mourning to honor the late spiritual leader of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims, Prince Shah Karim Al-Husseini, Aga Khan IV. Prince Karim Aga Khan passed away at 88, and as a mark of respect, the national flag will be flown at half-mast across the country. Born on December 13, 1936, in Geneva, he was a renowned leader and philanthropist dedicated to global development. His contributions to education, healthcare, and social welfare have positively impacted millions of lives.
