Pakistan, China, Afghanistan to Boost BRI Cooperation

Pakistan, China, and Afghanistan have agreed to strengthen cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and expand the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) into Afghanistan. This understanding was reached during a trilateral meeting in Beijing between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, and Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi. The three leaders highlighted the importance of trilateral cooperation for boosting regional security and economic connectivity. They also discussed enhancing diplomatic ties, improving communication, and taking joint steps to promote trade, infrastructure, and development for shared regional growth.
