The Nobel Institute rejected reports of Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), being nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Norway’s Centre Party, labeling it a political strategy to garner votes from the Pakistani community ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections.
On March 28, PTI claimed that Imran Khan had been nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, citing an announcement by the Pakistan World Alliance (PWA). The nomination, made by the Norwegian Centre Party (Partiet Sentrum), was detailed in a video statement by a PWA representative, who praised Khan for his contributions to human rights and democracy in Pakistan. However, the Nobel Institute dismissed these claims as politically motivated.
