Murree and Galiyat are on high alert because snowfall is expected

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and Murree’s district administration have issued alerts and mobilized relevant departments to brace for snowfall and heavy rain in Murree, Galiyat, and nearby areas. Snowfall is anticipated from Sunday to Monday, with uncertain weather conditions persisting until February 22.

Travelers are urged to exercise caution, thoroughly inspect their vehicles, and carry emergency supplies. Assistance is accessible via PDMA’s 1129 helpline, Murree district administration’s control room numbers, and a WhatsApp contact. It’s advisable to use tire chains in snowy regions, and adherence to traffic rules is essential for safe travel.

Thirteen tourist assistance centers have been established to aid visitors, and emergency services such as Rescue 1122 and the tourism helpline 1421 are on standby to offer assistance and guidance.
