Muharram-al-Haram Started, Mobile Service Temporarily Disrupted

Recommendations have been issued to suspend mobile services on 9th and 10th Muharram in sensitive districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to reports, eight districts within the province have been identified as highly sensitive during the Muharram-al-Haram period in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These districts include Kohat, Hangu, DI Khan, Orakzai, Lucky Marwat, and Karam. The police will receive full support from security agencies to ensure safety during this time.

The first day of Muharram 1445 Hijri falls on Thursday, July 20, while the day of Ashura, the 10th of Muharram, will be observed on Saturday, July 29.

As the new Islamic year and month commence, gatherings and processions will be held nationwide to honor the martyrs of Karbala. In light of potential security concerns, both the federal and provincial governments have implemented additional special security measures to maintain peace and order during these events.
