Renowned Islamic scholar Mufti Taqi Usmani stated that no one, regardless of their status or position, is above judicial accountability in Islam. Citing the example of the Khulafa-e-Rashideen, he emphasized that Islamic leaders have always remained answerable to the law. Criticizing past constitutional clauses granting immunity to the president, he said such protections contradict Islamic teachings and the spirit of the Constitution. Mufti Usmani warned that lifetime immunity would be a national disgrace and urged lawmakers to reject it as a serious violation of justice and Shariah.
