Meta has launched its artificial intelligence assistant, Meta AI, in Urdu, marking a major step toward advancing Pakistan’s digital transformation. The initiative aims to make AI technology more inclusive and accessible for millions of Urdu-speaking users. Announced at the “Future in Focus: AI and Innovation” event, held in collaboration with the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), the launch reflects Meta’s commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s digital ecosystem through AI education and innovation. With this update, users can now interact with Meta AI in both English and Urdu, offering a more personalized and natural experience. Federal IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja praised the move as a key contribution to the Digital Pakistan Vision, empowering citizens through technology. Meta’s Director of Public Policy for South and Central Asia, Sarim Aziz, said the rollout will help local communities connect more deeply with digital tools. To further this mission, Meta has also introduced an AI Literacy Programme in partnership with HEC, NCEAC, MoITT, and atomcamp, aimed at training 350 university teachers in AI fundamentals.
