Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik has been appointed as the new Director General of ISI and will assume his role on September 30, according to PTV News.
Gen Malik, currently the adjutant general at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, was promoted to lieutenant general in October 2021. He has served in the Balochistan infantry division and commanded a brigade in Waziristan. Notably, he was awarded the Sword of Honour during his military training.
