The Lahore High Court has granted relief to Pakistan cricket star Babar Azam by overturning a sessions court order that had directed police to register a harassment case against him. Justice Asjad Gharal accepted Babar Azam’s petition and declared the earlier order null and void, stating that proper legal procedures were not followed before instructing police to file the case. The complaint was originally filed in 2018 by Hamiza Mukhtar, who had made allegations against the cricketer. However, Babar Azam’s legal team maintained that the claims were unfounded and related to a financial dispute rather than criminal wrongdoing.
