Kuwait imposes fines on women driving with a niqab or burqa, citing vision risks

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior has introduced a new traffic rule fining women who wear a niqab or burqa while driving. The rule aims to enhance road safety and improve driver identification. Violators face fines between 30 and 50 Kuwaiti dinars (about PKR 13,200 to PKR 22,000), with a reduced fee of 15 dinars (around PKR 6,600) for immediate payment. Authorities argue that face coverings reduce visibility and make it harder for surveillance cameras to identify drivers, posing challenges for traffic enforcement.
