PESCO’s latest report reveals a worsening power crisis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with losses reaching Rs193.4 billion in just 11 months due to electricity theft and technical faults—averaging Rs583 million daily. Bannu faced the highest loss rate at 73.86%, while Peshawar recorded the biggest financial hit of Rs51.44 billion. Other districts like Tank, Karak, Dera Ismail Khan, and Mardan also reported major losses. PESCO blames outdated infrastructure, weak enforcement, and political interference, warning that without urgent reforms, the crisis will continue to damage both the economy and public trust.
