A Karachi citizen has moved a sessions court seeking a criminal case against Mayor Murtaza Wahab and other officials after three-year-old Ibrahim died by falling into an open manhole near Nipa. The petition, filed by Advocate Sheikh Saqib Ahmed, accuses municipal authorities of negligence, claiming rescue teams arrived late and the family had to pay Rs15,000 for a private search team. The applicant argued that the tragedy reflects an incompetent system and urged the court to order police to register an FIR against the Karachi Mayor, the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town Chairman, an XEN, and the Project Director.
