Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is set to visit Washington on July 25 to meet US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, marking a major step in reviving high-level US-Pakistan ties. This will be the first cabinet-level meeting since 2016, following years of limited contact. Before reaching Washington, Dar will attend key sessions in New York under Pakistan’s presidency of the UN Security Council, including debates on multilateral peace efforts and the Palestinian issue. His meeting with Secretary Rubio is seen as a crucial move to restart strategic dialogue. The visit comes shortly after Finance Minister Aurangzeb held trade talks with top US officials.
