India Now Produces 1 in 5 iPhones Globally as Production Hits $22 Billion

India has emerged as a major player in global iPhone production, now manufacturing 20% of all iPhones sold worldwide. In the financial year 2025, Apple produced iPhones worth $22 billion in India — marking a 60% surge from the previous year. This rapid growth comes amid production challenges in China and the Indian government’s push for local manufacturing through special incentives. Of the total output, $17.4 billion worth of iPhones were exported. With giants like Foxconn and Tata Group leading production, Apple is diversifying beyond China, while India positions itself as a global hub for high-tech manufacturing — even producing the latest premium iPhone models locally.
