Imran Khan permits party to engage in talks with ‘authorities’ ahead of protest, says PTI lawyer

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has authorized party leaders to negotiate with authorities regarding the party’s demands before deciding on postponing the planned Islamabad rally.

Imran Khan’s legal counsel, Khalid Yousuf Chaudhary, stated that the former prime minister emphasized that “talks will be held with those in power.” The decision came during a meeting with PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, who sought Khan’s approval for initiating negotiations.

Imran Khan also reaffirmed that the November 24 protest would continue unless the government meets PTI’s demands. According to Khalid Yousuf, this decision followed a two-hour-long discussion, marking a shift from Khan’s earlier stance, where he had prohibited party leaders from engaging in talks.

Earlier, CM Ali Amin Gandapur and Barrister Gohar met Khan at Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail. Meanwhile, sources revealed a high-level meeting between PTI and ruling coalition representatives in the Federal Capital to discuss the Islamabad march.
