HRCP Demands Minimum Monthly Wage of Rs 75,000 in Pakistan

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has urged the government to raise the minimum monthly wage to Rs75,000, highlighting that inflation and rising living costs have made survival difficult for workers. At a recent event in Hyderabad, HRCP and labour rights activists emphasized that current wages are not enough to cover food, healthcare, and education. They criticized the growing gap between elite salary hikes and the struggles of ordinary workers, and pointed out the lack of enforcement of existing labour laws. The HRCP called for immediate action to ensure fair wages and protect workers’ rights, saying that an increased minimum wage is essential for a dignified life.
