Himalayan Pink Salt, which was sold to India for Rs. 2.98/kg, is now being sold on Amazon for $26.42/kg.

The Khewra mines produce a unique and highly sought-after salt, known for its purity and premium price point. This salt is used in a variety of ways around the world, including as a specialty food, in spa treatments, and even as a decorative item. Its use in the health sector and in Hindu religious activities also makes it a significant commodity. However, despite being such a valuable product, Pakistan sells it to India at a very low price. In 2016, India purchased 625 metric tons of pink salt from Pakistan at a rate of Rs2.98 per kg, and then packaged and branded the salt for export to countries such as Korea, the US, UAE, Canada, Somalia, and Spain. India also makes other products using this salt, which are then sold to the rest of the world. Interestingly, some countries, such as Israel and France, even sell our salt as their own product.
