Gwadar Airport set to open in 2025

The Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan is optimistic about the commencement of operations at Gwadar International Airport in 2025.

As per the recent announcement by the Civil Aviation Authority, the New Gwadar International Airport has received certification as a global aerodrome category C for the next two years. This certification guarantees the airport’s suitability for aircraft landings under diverse weather conditions.

Officials have also underscored the implementation of a state-of-the-art landing system at the airport, facilitating the safe landing of large aircraft such as the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737.

In the preceding December, the CAA released a new flight schedule for Gwadar Airport spanning three months. According to this schedule, flights were scheduled to operate three days a week (Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday) from December 1 to February 28, 2024. Non-scheduled flights were required to notify the Gwadar Airport administration 24 hours in advance.
