Government to import sugar to stabilize rising prices

The Pakistani government has decided to import raw sugar to curb soaring prices, which have reached around Rs 170 per kg in Karachi, causing public concern. By increasing supply, the move aims to stabilize prices and provide relief to consumers. The imported sugar will be refined locally, boosting future production and ensuring a steady supply. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to regulate market fluctuations and maintain fair pricing, especially ahead of Ramadan when sugar demand rises.
