The banned TTP organization has asserted responsibility for the assault that occurred in the Chitral district of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
A confrontation near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border has led to the casualties of at least four Pakistani soldiers and 12 armed insurgents. The outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed accountability for this incident.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Pakistani military reported that a sizable group of “terrorists armed with advanced weaponry” launched an attack on two military checkpoints in the Chitral district of the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, resulting in a “fierce exchange of gunfire.”
