“First-Ever” only Women Bus Service Launched in Karachi

The Sindh government launched the country’s “first-ever” Pink Peoples Bus Service in Karachi that will be exclusively for women. The Transport Ministry is making an enormous effort to empower and safeguard women who want to travel safely and affordably for the first time in Pakistan.

Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon launched the pink bus service. Speaking to the media after the inauguration, Memon said that the pink bus service will run from Model Colony Malir to the Tower via Shahrah-e-Faisal.

He also stated that buses will run every 20 minutes during working hours in the morning and evening. The buses will run every hour for the rest of the day. Initially, four pink buses will become operational on the first route in the city, said Sharjeel Memon.
