An anti-terrorism court on Tuesday acquitted Mohammad Minhaj Qazi, former security in-charge of MQM’s Nine Zero, and co-accused Mehboob Ghufran in the 1997 Shahid Hamid murder case. The two were on trial for the alleged killing of the KESC managing director, his driver, and a guard in DHA. The court cited lack of evidence as the reason for their acquittal after hearing arguments from both sides. Jail authorities were directed to release the accused if not wanted in any other case.
