Elon Musk’s SpaceX is preparing to launch the world’s largest commercial communications satellite, named Jupiter 3, using the Falcon Heavy rocket. This launch was originally scheduled for July 26 but was postponed due to safety concerns. The new launch attempt is set for July 27, with both the rocket and satellite in good condition.
Jupiter 3 is comparable in size to a large airplane’s wingspan and will join other satellites in space as part of the Hughes Jupiter fleet. It aims to enhance services like in-flight Wi-Fi and improve private Wi-Fi through innovative technologies.
The launch will take place at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, marking the seventh use of the Falcon Heavy rocket.
