During the OIC meeting, Pakistan urges the establishment of humanitarian routes for Gaza

During an urgent meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Pakistan emphasized the need for Israel to immediately halt its campaign of terror and called for an immediate ceasefire. Pakistan also urged the establishment of humanitarian corridors to facilitate the delivery of relief supplies to Gaza, as reported by ARY News.

Leading the Pakistani delegation at the urgent open-ended Ministerial Meeting of the Executive Committee of the OIC, Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani made these statements in Jeddah. This meeting was jointly convened by Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to address the crisis in Gaza and the dire humanitarian situation faced by its besieged population.

Jalil Abbas Jilani strongly condemned Israel’s aggressive actions and the inhumane blockade imposed on Gaza, which has resulted in loss of life, extensive destruction, and mass displacement. He also expressed his condemnation for the Israeli attack on a hospital in Gaza that led to the tragic loss of innocent lives.

He emphasized that the actions of the Israeli occupation forces blatantly violated international humanitarian and human rights laws. Their indiscriminate and disproportionate use of force amounted to both war crimes and crimes against humanity, Jilani added.

The foreign minister called on the international community to hold Israel accountable for these serious violations and crimes.
