The Dumper and Oil Tankers Association has expressed gratitude to Inspector General Sindh Police Ghulam Nabi Memon and the Sindh government for the arrest of MQM-H founder Afaq Ahmed. Ahmed had called for a protest against the daytime operation of heavy traffic in Karachi amid rising road accidents. Association President Liaquat Mehsud praised the police for preventing potential unrest, accusing Ahmed of inciting youth against dumpers. He claimed Ahmed urged party workers to act against heavy vehicles, which were linked to 100 motorcyclist deaths in just 40 days of 2025. The association also urged the government to enforce strict operational hours for heavy traffic.
