Donald Trump Says Missing Nobel Peace Prize Would Be an ‘Insult’ to America

US President Donald Trump has declared that not winning the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize would be an “insult” to the United States. The winner will be announced on Friday, with 338 candidates shortlisted this year. Trump, who has often criticized the Nobel Committee for awarding the prize to former President Barack Obama in 2009, believes his diplomatic achievements make him a worthy contender. He claims to have “ended at least seven wars” since taking office and insists this record justifies the honor. Trump has reportedly received multiple nominations, including one from Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his “decisive diplomatic intervention” in the India-Pakistan crisis, and another from a US congressman for his role in the Iran-Israel ceasefire.
