An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi on Thursday acquitted MQM-H Chairman Afaq Ahmed in a case related to the burning of a dumper truck and alleged incitement to violence. The case, filed by Landhi police, accused him of making provocative statements amid a series of dumper and truck arson incidents earlier this year, following a rise in fatal road accidents involving heavy vehicles. After reviewing the evidence, the ATC ruled that the prosecution failed to prove the charges and ordered his acquittal. Afaq Ahmed had been arrested in February and faced two separate cases, but his legal team had consistently denied the allegations.
