A US woman, Onijah Andrew Robinson, was abandoned by her Karachi-based boyfriend, Nidal Ahmed Memon, upon arriving in Pakistan. She spent the night in the parking lot of his apartment building, repeatedly asking security officials to let her speak with him, referring to him as her husband. After reaching his residence from Jinnah International Airport, she discovered that Nidal and his family had fled before her arrival. Determined to stay, she remained in the building until police intervened. SDPO Defence Faiza Sodher stated that security forces could not allow her to stay openly due to her status as a foreign national.
