The federal government has set a December 31 deadline for Afghan nationals in Islamabad to leave unless they obtain official permission to stay. This decision comes amid recent clashes between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protesters and law enforcement in the capital.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stressed that Afghan nationals without proper documentation will not be allowed to remain in Islamabad after the deadline.
“Afghan nationals must have permission to stay in Islamabad beyond the end of next month,” Naqvi stated.
The government has directed Afghan citizens to secure a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Deputy Commissioner’s office if they wish to extend their stay beyond December.
