A threat alert has been issued for Karachi

On Monday, ARY News reported that the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) has issued a threat alert for Karachi, the capital of Sindh, citing potential terrorist attacks at significant locations.

The handout from the internal security watchdog highlighted the possibility of terror elements targeting key government buildings or installations.

According to the notification titled “Terrorist Activities in Karachi,” which ARY News obtained a copy of, four unidentified terrorists are suspected of preparing a suicide bomber for potential attacks across Karachi. The individuals mentioned in the alert are Arsalan, Mushtaq, Abid, and Ghazanfar.

The alert underscored the importance of heightened vigilance at critical installations, including the Sindh Assembly, CM House Sindh, Press Club Karachi, Sindh High Court, as well as hospitals and schools.

NACTA emphasized the need for extreme vigilance and increased security measures to prevent any adverse incidents.

This alert comes amid a rise in terrorist activities nationwide, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, following the termination of the ceasefire between the government and the outlawed militant group Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan in November 2022.
