Pakistan blacklists 50,000+ passports to curb illegal migration

The Passport and Immigration Department has blacklisted over 50,000 passports following FIA’s recommendations to curb illegal migration to Europe. Many Pakistani citizens have also had their passports revoked as part of this crackdown.

The move comes in response to tragic maritime accidents involving Pakistani migrants, prompting the Ministry of Interior to enforce stricter measures under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s directive. Officials confirmed that all deported individuals since 2017 have been blacklisted to prevent illegal travel. The decision followed a task force meeting where the Prime Minister questioned the FIA on actions taken against deportees.
